FAITH FELLOWSHIP
COMMUNITY CHURCH
About our Belief
Our church is dedicated to fostering a welcoming community where individuals can explore their faith, deepen their understanding, and connect with others. We focus on offering meaningful worship experiences, educational programs, and service opportunities that inspire personal and spiritual growth. The Trinity is the Christian doctrine that God is one Being who exists eternally in three coequal, coeternal Persons:
The Father (God the source)
The Son (Jesus Christ, God the Word)
The Holy Spirit (God, the presence and power)
These three are not three separate gods (tritheism) and not just different “masks” or roles of one person (modalism). They are distinct persons but share the same divine essence — one God.
Biblical Basis
a. One God Our church is committed to creating a welcoming community where individuals can explore their faith, deepen their understanding, and connect with others. We focus on providing meaningful worship experiences, educational programs, and service opportunities that inspire personal and spiritual growth. The Trinity is the Christian doctrine that God is one Being who exists eternally as three coequal, coeternal Persons: •The Father (God the source) •The Son (Jesus Christ, God the Word) •The Holy Spirit (God the presence and power) These three are not three separate gods (tritheism) nor just different “masks” or roles of one person (modalism). They are distinct persons, yet they share the same divine essence — one God. 2. Biblical Basis a. One God The Old Testament clearly states there is one God: •“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.” (Deut. 6:4) •“I am the LORD, and there is no other.” (Isa. 45:5) b. Three Persons In the New Testament, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are each described as fully God yet distinguishable from each other. The Father is God: •“Grace to you and peace from God our Father…” (Rom. 1:7) The Son is God: •“In the beginning was the Word… and the Word was God.” (John 1:1) •“My Lord and my God!” (John 20:28) The Holy Spirit is God: •“Why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit… You have not lied to men but to God.” (Acts 5:3–4) 3. Trinitarian Passages Some passages depict the three persons working together: •Jesus’ baptism – “The Spirit of God descended… and a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my beloved Son.’” (Matt. 3:16–17) •The Great Commission – “Baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matt. 28:19) •Paul’s blessing – “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit…” (2 Cor. 13:14) 4. Theological Summary •One Essence: The divine nature is singular, infinite, and eternal. •Three Persons: Each person is fully God — not a part or fraction. •Unity and Distinction: They are united in will, glory, and essence, yet distinct in personhood and relational roles. The Old Testament is clear that there is one God:
“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.” (Deut. 6:4)
“I am the LORD, and there is no other.” (Isa. 45:5)
b. Three Persons
In the New Testament, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are each spoken of as fully God and yet distinguished from each other.
The Father is God:
“Grace to you and peace from God our Father…” (Rom. 1:7)
The Son is God:
“In the beginning was the Word… and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)
“My Lord and my God!” (John 20:28)
The Holy Spirit is God:
“Why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit… You have not lied to men but to God.” (Acts 5:3–4)
3. Trinitarian Passages
Some passages show the three persons working together:
Jesus’ baptism – “The Spirit of God descended… and a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my beloved Son.’” (Matt. 3:16–17)
The Great Commission – “Baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matt. 28:19)
Paul’s blessing – “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit…” (2 Cor. 13:14)
4. Theological Summary
One Essence: The divine nature is singular, infinite, and eternal.
Three Persons: Each person is fully God, not a part or fraction.
Unity and Distinction: They are united in will, glory, and essence, yet distinct in personhood and relational roles.
